Functions
  • The mayor provides general political guidance on the fiscal and financial affairs of the municipality.
  • The mayor takes all reasonable steps to ensure the municipality performs its constitutional and statutory functions within the limits of the municipality’s approved budget.
  • Coordinating the annual revision of the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and the preparation of the annual budget and determining how the IDP is to be taken into account, or revised, for the purpose of the budget.
